I’m going to Queenstown soon for a holiday, and I’d like to know which day spa’s are around and if anyone has any recommendations.
I am considering opening a day spa. What is your favorite part of going to a day spa? What things would you like to see at your local spa? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
My mom and I are looking to go to a mother daughter day spa but we don’t know of any. Please let me know if you know of any day spas that offer mother daughter services in Orange County. Thanks!!!!=)
Purchasing a sample or template for your day spa business plan can be extremely valuable, but only if there is a well-done and customizable financial model spreadsheet that comes with it. To know if the financial model you’re working with makes the cut, look for the following elements. Multiple Revenue StreamsAs the years go by, you may expect to move customer from one service to another (for example, increasingly sell massages, while at first customers only purchased facial treatments). To do this, the financial model must let you play with multiple revenue streams by letting you choose as many as possible and alter the sales mix between them over time. Automated Financial StatementsThe financial statements themselves require some accounting knowledge to put together, and the model should not require you to create them from scratch or even have to adjust them much at all. A well-made financial model will let you make adjustments on worksheets about your assumptions of costs, revenues, and debt and equity you will raise, and then populate the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement automatically. For a model to be robust it must allow for a change made in one place to automatically effect all the other sheets and statements.Startup CostsThe model should give you the opportunity to lay out the startup costs you have identified, such as for your furniture, booths, sinks, supplies, inventory, and improvements to the location itself (leasehold improvements). The model should know which costs are depreciated over time and which must be expensed at the time they are incurred, so that you don’t have to learn this on your own or set up your own depreciation schedule. Debt or Equity Finally, the model should let you choose whether you will fund your day spa through debt (loans) or equity (stockholder investment). It should allow you to choose interest rates, a repayment schedule, and use a combination of both debt and equity if you choose. This should serve the purposes of most day spa entrepreneurs without complicated customization.
I want to take my daughter and her friends somewhere cool on my daughter’s 12th birthday for makeovers, manicures, etc. Does anyone know where? Somewhere not outrageously priced? Thanks!
When you run your own salon or day spa business, no other topic is as all encompassing as marketing. It involves just about everything you do and is determined by your perceptions of, and attitude towards, the world at large. How will the people around you perceive you (and everything to do with you and your business)? It’s a topic that excites and motivates the savvy salon and day spa owners above and beyond any other aspect of running their beauty business.
Let’s look at what beauty salon marketing means for your business. In a nutshell (as I’ve already said), it’s all about everything! Too often salon owners believe marketing is only about the advertisement placed in a local newspaper, or the layout of their website, and while that can be a component, you really need to see marketing as being everything you do. It’s the how, why, when and where of the following.
o You and your uniquenesso Your work style.o Your décor and design.o Your pricing.o Your product distribution.o Your selling and promotion.o Your after-sales service.o Customer satisfaction.o Training.o Human resources.o Your business structure.o Accounting and business management style
To cut a long story short, there’s so much more to marketing a salon than just media advertising, sponsorships, brochures, signage, business cards, referrals, direct mail-outs, etc.
Marketing can be either external or internal.
o External marketing involves every conclusion that can be drawn about your business from the outside looking in. It’s not just clients who will judge you on your external marketing - it’s the whole world outside the walls of your business, from your suppliers, accountants and bankers through friends and family to (most importantly of all) your rivals.
o Internal marketing encompasses the opinions formed about you by your work colleagues and other staff who may work within the salon, not to mention your significant other and perhaps your children. It’s to do with everyone on the inside, everyone who, whether directly or indirectly, is on intimate terms with the business in some way or another.
So, marketing is also about perceptions: how people perceive you and your business. Therefore, it’s up to you to take a proactive role in determining what those perceptions are. Too few in the industry, salon owners and day spa owners alike, make a deliberate effort to market themselves. Rather, they go about their business and their marketing almost ‘by default’. If I can get you to understand only one thing about marketing, it’s this: you’re doing it, for good or ill, all of the time, whether you’re aware of it or not!

Day spas provide services related to beauty and health. There are a number of excellent Arizona day spas which offer a variety of treatments including facials, manicures, pedicures and massage. While it may seem like a decadent indulgence, spending a day being pampered can renew your energy and relieve tension and muscle pain associated with stress.
A reputed Arizona day spa will employ only licensed professionals to perform the various services that they offer. Cosmetologists, masseurs and manicurists are experts at renewing body and soul. One day at a spa is like a week’s vacation. It may even be better, since there are no distractions at a spa; just a peaceful atmosphere with people devoted to your comfort. If you visit a day spa, you may take advantage of all their services or you may choose just one or two.
Massage is part of a holistic approach to medicine. Being touched brings comfort to most people. Being massaged brings a release of tension and a sense of well being. There are a number of types of massage which can be used depending on the individual’s needs. You should discuss any muscle pain with your masseur and he will help you decide which technique, or combination of techniques will benefit you the most.
Deep tissue massage will work to relax cramped, tight muscles and relieve pain. This may be combined with aromatherapy or hot stone massage for the greatest relaxation. There are Arizona day spas which offer all of these therapies with license masseurs who are professionally trained in all aspects of their craft.
Acupressure massage is another technique for easing muscle pain. In this technique, pressure is applied to specific nerve centers in the body. Acupressure works similarly to acupuncture, but no needles are used. Finding the nerve centers and applying pressure correctly is skill that is learned by professional masseurs and healers. It provides a degree of pain relief without the use of drugs.
Some people at Arizona day spas have a specific area they want address with massage. They may suffer from headaches or tension in the neck and shoulders. Stress relief or craniosacral message may best address this complaint. Your personal masseur can help you decide the best therapies to deal with stress.
Massage can even offer relief from sinus pain. If you suffer from chronic sinus pain and your medical treatment only provides limited relief, you should discuss this with your masseur. He may be able to help.
For women who are pregnant there are special prenatal massage therapies. If you are interested in the benefits of prenatal message therapy, you should talk to your doctor and a qualified masseur.
Spending a day at an Arizona day spa is not a decadent indulgence but a necessary renewal. Stress has been associated with many diseases including cancer and heart attack. Taking the time to relieve stress and relax completely isn’t pampering yourself; it’s a way to stay healthy so you can deal with the things that truly matter in your life.
